Attorney Monica Basche was selected to the inaugural 2023 Lawdragon “500 X – The Next Generation” guide, a first-of-its-kind guide representing the next generation of top legal talent in the United States—talent that will define the direction of the country’s legal profession. Monica was chosen from a pool of thousands of attorney submissions and was specifically recognized for her exemplary work in civil rights and commercial litigation.
Since joining BGL in 2019, Monica has built a notable practice representing clients in civil rights cases, including disability rights, housing discrimination, employment discrimination, and prisoners’ rights. Monica also has experience with commercial litigation and business disputes.
In addition to being named a key member of the next generation of top legal talent by Lawdragon, Monica was named a Maryland Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2023, as well as a Best Lawyers “One to Watch” for Civil Rights Law, Commercial Litigation and Litigation – Labor and Employment for 2022 and 2023. This year, she was honored as a 2023 Maryland Leader in Law by the Maryland State Bar Association and The Daily Record based on her ongoing dedication to the legal profession and commitment to making Maryland community stronger through her advocacy. In 2021 and 2022, Monica was named as a Top 40 Under 40 Lawyer by The National Trial Lawyers.
