Andrew Freeman and Andrew Levy celebrated BGL alumnus Stu Simms at The Daily Record’s 2025 Icon Honors awards dinner; Eve Hill, Anisha Queen, and Jessie Weber attended the 2025 National Federation of the Blind Supporter Celebration; and Jacqueline Cadman attended two events with the Women’s Bar Association of D.C. and the Women’s White Collar Defense Association Awards Gala.

Welcome to another installment of our “Beyond the Courtroom” series: a recap of recent events our attorneys have attended. From conferences and lectures to summits and symposiums, and more, the BGL team is proud to stay connected to the legal and local communities.

Jacqueline Cadman attended 131 & Counting and Vin Vitalité’s Holiday Soirée with fellow leaders of the Women’s Bar Association of D.C. on December 10, where they celebrated women leaders in public policy and the wine community – two fields where women remain underrepresented yet continue to drive progress, innovation and leadership.

Andrew Freeman and Andrew Levy attended The Daily Record’s 2025 Icon Honors award celebration on December 8, where BGL alumnus Stuart Simms was honored for the many contributions he has made to the legal community and to the public good. The Icon Honors recognizes Maryland business leaders over the age of 60, for their notable success and strong leadership within and outside their fields. Read more about Stu here.

On December 4, Eve Hill, Anisha Queen, and Jessie Weber attended the 2025 National Federation of the Blind Supporter Celebration. The evening brought together NFB leaders from various parts of the country, as well as local and national corporate partners. BGL’s work with the NFB extends as far back as 1986, when founding partner Dan Goldstein first took on the role of the organization’s counsel. When Dan Goldstein retired in 2017, he passed on the leadership within BGL to Eve Hill.

The same week, Jacqueline Cadman attended the annual Women’s Bar Association of D.C. (WBADC) Holiday Tea. Hosted in Washington D.C. on December 3, she enjoyed an elegant and festive afternoon high tea with fellow members. Jacqueline is proud to be a member of the WBADC, where she is also the co-chair and co-founder of its Criminal Law Forum.

Jacqueline Cadman also attended the 2025 Women’s White Collar Defense Association Awards (WWCDA) Gala December 2. The evening honored outstanding achievements of leaders in white collar defense, investigations and compliance. Throughout the event, Jacqueline and her fellow attendees networked, enjoyed refreshments, and heard remarks from WWCDA leaders prior to the awards ceremony.
