On September 22, BGL attorneys Anthony May and Lauren DiMartino attended the 2022 Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service (MVLS) Judicial Reception. The annual event recognizes the importance of MVLS’ volunteer attorneys, like Anthony and Lauren, and the critical role their pro bono work plays in advancing justice for communities across the state. Anthony was recently selected to the MVLS Board of Directors.
MVLS is Maryland’s largest provider of pro bono civil legal services to low-income individuals. Through pro bono representation, community engagement, and legislative and administrative advocacy, MLVS is a passionate force in pushing against the systems that harm people living in and near poverty.
Anthony was previously named MVLS’ 2019 Young Lawyer of the Year and serves on the MVLS Community Advocacy Network (CAN) Leadership Committee, where he formerly served as President from 2017-2019. MVLS CAN is a network of newly barred volunteer attorneys, certified public accountants, enrolled agents, and law students who aspire to connect clients with quality, free legal services while also growing their skill sets.
