Attorney Monica Basche was recognized on the “Ones to Watch” list in The Best Lawyers in America’s 30th edition for her impressive work representing a variety of clients. Monica was listed in the “Civil Rights Law,” “Commercial Litigation” and “Litigation – Labor and Employment” categories.

This is Monica’s third consecutive year being included on The Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” list. She was recently selected to the inaugural Lawdragon 500 X – The Next Generation guide for 2023 and received the Maryland State Bar Association and The Daily Record’s 2023 Leaders in Law Award. Additionally, Super Lawyers named Monica a 2023 Maryland Rising Star. For the past two years, Monica has been selected to The National Trial Lawyers: Top 40 Under 40 based on her continued dedication and excellence in the legal field.
Monica joined BGL in 2019 and represents clients in civil rights cases, including disability rights, housing discrimination, employment discrimination, and prisoners’ rights. Monica is an active member of the Bar Association of Baltimore City and will serve as an Elected Member on the BABC Executive Council during the upcoming 2023–2024 bar year. Monica previously served as their Young Lawyers’ Division’s Treasurer and as Co-Chair of its Public Service Committee. Monica was also a member of the Maryland State Bar Association Young Lawyers’ Section Publications Committee. She currently serves on the board of Maryland CASA Association, a nonprofit organization that trains volunteer Court-Appointed Special Advocates to speak up for the best interests of children who are under the protection of the courts.
