Brown, Goldstein & Levy attorney Lauren J. Kelleher served as a panelist at the Maryland State Bar Association’s (MSBA) 2025 Legal Summit Series on Tuesday, June 24. The panel, titled Practice Makes Perfect: Essential Tips for New Lawyers, offered practical guidance for attorneys navigating the early years of legal practice.
Lauren joined fellow experienced professionals in discussing key areas critical to early-career success, including client relationship development, time management, courtroom and negotiation skills, and maintaining ethical standards. Panelists also highlighted the challenge of achieving work-life balance, encouraging attendees to experiment with strategies for managing professional responsibilities while preserving personal well-being and engaging in mentorship and networking for long-term professional growth.
The event was tailored to attorneys in their first five years of practice and those seeking to strengthen foundational skills. Lauren, who earned her J.D. in 2016, brought valuable insights drawn from a diverse legal career across both public and private sectors.
Before joining BGL in 2022, Lauren served as an Assistant Attorney General in the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, where she litigated high-impact cases against pharmaceutical companies involved in the opioid crisis, including the Purdue Pharma bankruptcy. She also previously worked as a trial attorney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, where she handled cases under the Equal Pay Act, ADEA, and Title VII, and has experience representing clients in employment discrimination and consumer protection litigation.
Lauren’s outstanding lawyering and leadership in the field has been recognized by some of the legal industry’s most notable organizations and publications, including The Best Lawyers in America, Lawdragon, and Super Lawyers. Lauren’s participation reflects her ongoing commitment to mentorship, advocacy, and excellence in the legal profession.
