Part of Lauren’s robust practice utilizes the Fair Housing Act to assist individuals and non-profits impacted by discriminatory conduct and to challenge systems perpetuating segregation and institutionalization.Lauren also works with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to advocate for equity in education, healthcare, the workplace, and professional licensing.
This year, Lauren has shared her knowledge in a number of presentations, including “Creating Self Advocates: How Attorneys Can Assist in Successful Transitions to a More-Independent Adulthood,” which she presented at the 2024 Jacobus tenBroek Disability Law Symposium, and “Applying for Accommodations for the Bar,” which she presented at CUNY Law and co-presented with fellow BGL attorney Neel Lalchandani for Brooklyn Law School. She is currently teaching a course on appellate advocacy at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
