Attorney Lauren DiMartino was recognized on the “Ones to Watch” list in The Best Lawyers in America’s 30th edition for her work in appellate, civil rights, commercial litigation, and labor and employment law.
“I am honored to be named ‘One to Watch’ by Best Lawyers, alongside such an impactful, dedicated group of attorneys,” Lauren said. “Ultimately, my goal is to ensure equity across the board for each of my clients – that every client I meet has the same opportunity to thrive as each one of their peers. I am grateful for all the impactful mentorship I’ve received in my career. I look forward to continuing this work.”
Lauren’s practice is focused on ensuring diverse communities can flourish, whether it’s through challenging various types of discrimination in housing, employment, or education, holding government actors accountable, or advocating for small businesses embroiled in dispute. She is a specialist on the Fair Housing Act, utilizing it to assist individuals impacted by discriminatory conduct and to challenge systems perpetuating segregation, with a particular interest in the intersection of housing and public education.
Lauren works with the Americans with Disabilities Act, Title IX, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 to advocate for equity in the education system. She has experience working with families of children beginning early intervention through high school—including assisting families with accommodations and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)—in addition to experience working in higher education law and professional testing. Lauren also works with the families of students who are being bullied or harassed at school. In addition to her work at BGL, Lauren also co-teaches Appellate Advocacy at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law alongside BGL attorney, Jamie Strawbridge.
