Jessie Weber presented on deposition strategies in civil rights litigation to a group of attorneys advocating for the rights of students with disabilities.

Brown, Goldstein & Levy managing partner Jessie Weber presented on deposition strategies in civil rights cases for members of Attorneys for Education Rights (“AFER”), a Washington State association of attorneys who advocate for the rights of students with disabilities. Jessie’s November 7 presentation was part of AFER’s  annual education forum series.

 

During her presentation, Jessie shared tips for successfully preparing for, taking, and defending depositions in civil rights cases. She drew upon her experience litigating groundbreaking civil rights cases over the course of her career, including her work obtaining equal access for individuals with disabilities to voting, websites, government information and services. educational opportunities, and health care.

 

AFER is a Washington State-based non-profit organization committed to the advancement of education rights for students with disabilities. AFER’s membership is limited to plaintiff-side attorneys, including attorneys in non-profit organizations like TeamChild, Disability Rights Washington, Northwest Justice Project, and the ACLU.
