Eve Hill, partner at Brown Goldstein & Levy, was a featured panelist during the webinar, “Beyond Title II Compliance: Proactive Accessibility Strategies from K–12, Higher Ed & Beyond,” on August 6. The webinar was hosted by Benetech, a non-profit organization working toward educational equity by creating software for social good in the areas of education, employment, and social inclusion. The organization also offers free training for educators to support students with diverse learning needs.
As a featured panelist, Eve shared legal insights and guidance on how educational institutions can stay ahead of investigations and how to understand the evolving legal landscape, including common pitfalls under the Americans with Disabilities Act’s new Title II regulations. Eve enjoyed discussing innovative tools and approaches for digital and instructional accessibility.
Eve’s fellow featured panelists included Katie Krueger, Director of Technology Services at School District of the Menomonie Area, and George Kerscher, Chief Innovations Officer at DAISY Consortium.
Eve has presented on digital accessibility in education during webinars several times before, including with AccessComputing at the University of Washington DO-IT Center and the Maryland Initiative for Digital Accessibility (MIDA) at the University of Maryland. She also writes blogs on digital accessibility, including on the Department of Justice’s new guidelines requiring state and local government entities to make websites and mobile applications accessible for people with disabilities.
Eve is one of the country’s leading civil rights lawyers, with a particular focus on disability rights.
