Partner Chelsea Crawford was recognized in the 2024 edition of The Best Lawyers in America’s “Ones to Watch” list for her professional excellence across six practice areas: civil rights law, commercial litigation, criminal defense – general practice, labor and employment law – employee, litigation – labor and employment, and personal injury litigation – plaintiff. This is the third consecutive year Chelsea has been identified as “One to Watch” by Best Lawyers.
“I am honored to be named ‘One to Watch’ by The Best Lawyers in America across six practice areas for another year,” Chelsea said. “I look forward to continuing my efforts obtaining justice for my clients together with my dedicated, talented colleagues at Brown, Goldstein & Levy.”
A journalist-turned-litigator, Chelsea joined Brown, Goldstein & Levy in September 2015 and has extensive experience representing individuals and entities in civil matters, including wrongful conviction and police misconduct, personal injury and wrongful death, complex civil litigation, and commercial disputes. At BGL, Chelsea has worked on some of the largest wrongful conviction and police misconduct cases in the State of Maryland. In 2021, she obtained a $6.5 million settlement on behalf of the family of Eric Sopp, an unarmed man in distress who was shot and killed by a Baltimore County police officer. It was one of the largest settlements in State and County history.
In addition to her Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” awards, Chelsea was listed in Lawdragon’s inaugural 500 X – The Next Generation list (2023) and the Lawdragon 500 Leading Plaintiff Employment and Civil Rights Lawyers guide (2022 and 2023). She also earned The Daily Record’s 2022 Leading Women Award for 2022 and was listed as Maryland Rising Star by Super Lawyers from 2018 to 2023.
