Lauren KelleherBrown, Goldstein & Levy is proud to announce that Lauren Kelleher has been elevated to partner in recognition of her commitment to the firm’s work and her successes as an advocate for the individuals and organizations she represents. Lauren has a robust employment and disability rights practice and has successfully represented clients in cases of individual and class-based discrimination against entities ranging from small employers to large government actors. She has litigated cases in state and federal trial courts as well as courts of appeal. Lauren maintains a practice rooted in creative advocacy that centers her clients’ stories and goals.

Since joining the firm in 2022, Lauren has represented clients in high impact cases. She helped win a reversal of a client’s murder conviction and 35-year sentence in the Appellate Court of Maryland. And she is part of the BGL team representing former Baltimore-area tenants against Westminster Management, co-owned by Jared Kushner, for charging excessive late rent fees, in violation of Maryland law. Recently, the tenants won the right to proceed as a class action against Westminster to recover illegal late fees.

“We are proud to welcome Lauren as a partner,” said Managing Partner Jessie Weber. “She is an outstanding attorney who has built an impressive practice that aligns with our firm’s core commitment to elevate client voices and fight for their rights.”

Outside of her work at BGL, Lauren is committed to pursuing justice and reform in her beloved Baltimore City community. She has sat on the Baltimore Leadership Council for Jews United for Justice and served as chair of the Baltimore Action Team. She previously served as a Board Member for People Encouraging People, a non-profit behavioral healthcare corporation providing rehabilitation and support services to people in Baltimore with disabilities, and on that organization’s CEO Search Committee.

Lauren has received awards nationally for her exceptional lawyering. She has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a 2025 Maryland Rising Star and by Lawdragon as a 500 Leading Civil Rights & Plaintiff Employment Lawyer for 2024 and 2025. Additionally, Lauren has been named One to Watch by The Best Lawyers in America for Civil Rights Law (2024-2026), Commercial Litigation (2026), Labor and Employment Law – Employee (2026), and Litigation – Labor and Employment (2026).

Before joining the firm, Lauren served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Maryland Office of the Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division where she investigated and litigated against pharmaceutical companies for their role in the opioid epidemic and as a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. She also clerked for the Honorable Terrence G. Berg on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.

Lauren earned her J.D., cum laude, from Georgetown University Law Center and her B.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University.

Before law school, Lauren worked at a prisoners’ rights non-profit in California that successfully challenged overcrowding in the state’s institutions before the Supreme Court and monitored conditions in institutions statewide. In college, Lauren worked with her university’s innocence project on an investigation that resulted in the exoneration of an innocent man after 30 years in prison.
