Andrew Freeman, Anisha Queen, and Erin O’Neill recently resolved a case involving a tragic collision caused by a reckless driver who killed their client’s husband while he performed utility work on the side of a road on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The team obtained a million-dollar settlement for their client’s profound loss.
Our client’s husband was working as a cable splicer in a trailer parked on the side of the road with his hazard lights flashing and warning cones set out when the driver of a large pickup truck, driving almost 60 mph in a 40 mph zone, rounded a gentle curve and smashed into the back of the trailer.
On behalf of the widow and her late husband’s estate, the firm pursued compensation for the significant emotional harm she suffered from the loss of her husband, as well as for his fright and pain before he died. We also assisted her in obtaining justice through the criminal prosecution of the reckless driver.
The attorneys at Brown, Goldstein & Levy have vast experience standing beside families facing the unimaginable. BGL guides family members through every step of the legal process with compassion and expertise. While no settlement can erase the pain of losing a loved one, it can provide vital financial support and, in appropriate cases, lead to changes in systems and behavior that can prevent similar harm to others.
