Anthony MayBrown, Goldstein & Levy attorney Anthony May was recently named to Disability Rights Maryland’s 2021-2022 Pro Bono Honor Roll in recognition for his exceptional pro bono work from October 2021 to September 2022.

Additionally, Brown, Goldstein & Levy – a proud partner of DRM – was named to the Pro Bono Honor Roll list of law firms that provided exemplary pro bono service.

Anthony, who is passionate about ensuring all individuals have access to high quality legal services regardless of their socio-economic status, spoke to DRM about the honor: “I take every chance I have to work with Disability Rights Maryland. The attorneys and staff are exceptional, and their dedication to protecting the rights of people with disabilities is unparalleled. In every case, I learn more and more about how to be the best advocate I can for people whose voices are far too often stifled by stereotypes and misconceptions. It has, and always will be, an honor to work alongside DRM.”

Each year, thousands of individuals with disabilities contact DRM for legal help – a need that DRM is not always able to meet due to limited resources. The Pro Bono Program and the lawyers who participate help DRM to overcome this barrier by offering essential legal services to vulnerable individuals for free.

Anthony has represented clients in a variety of complex litigation matters, including assisting employees with disabilities in obtaining accessible technology and accommodations in the workplace, representing individuals who have been wrongfully convicted, commercial litigation disputes, and fighting workplace discrimination based on sexual orientation.

It is Anthony’s tireless pursuit of helping others that has kept him on the list as a Super Lawyers Maryland Rising Star for four years in a row, as well as on The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch list for appellate practice, civil rights law, and commercial litigation for 2022 and 2023. In 2022, Anthony received the Maryland Legal Services Corporation Rising Star Award for his outstanding pro bono work.
