Partner Andy Freeman appeared with his client, Paul Jan Zdunek, in a Baltimore Sun article about the Creditors’ Committee – which represents those with claims against the Archdiocese of Baltimore in the archdiocese’s bankruptcy – launching a website with information about the bankruptcy for child abuse survivors.

Mr. Zdunek, a survivor of child sexual abuse from the Archdiocese of Baltimore and an accomplished businessman and author, chairs the Creditors’ Committee.

On the Committee’s new website, survivors of abuse by clergymen, teachers, and others employed by the Archdiocese can view a news feed with case updates, an overview of the bankruptcy process, a page with “frequently asked questions,” and an inventory of resources for survivors. Among the online resources is a reminder that survivors of child sexual abuse have until May 31, 2024, to submit claims against the Archdiocese of Baltimore in bankruptcy court – claims that Brown, Goldstein & Levy is assisting its clients with completing in order to maximize their recovery. The Committee aims to add additional communication channels in the future, including town halls.

“Communication is vital,” said Mr. Zdunek in an email to The Sun. “As representatives of all survivors, the Creditors’ Committee wants to make sure there is a flow of information to all survivors during this lengthy and complicated bankruptcy process.”
