Brown Goldstein & Levy partner Eve Hill, one of the nation’s leading civil rights attorneys, will present a keynote speech during Virginia Tech’s inaugural Accessibility Awareness Week, on March 19, to discuss the legal landscape surrounding disability and accessibility.
Modeled after Global Accessibility Awareness Day, the week aims to provide learning opportunities and resources that engage the campus community to think, discuss, learn, and take action regarding digital and physical accessibility.
In addition to Eve’s presentation, the event will feature keynote speakers, a weeklong series of speakers, workshops, and discussions designed to increase awareness and provide employees and students with resources to create a more accessible and equitable community.
Eve is known especially for her work with clients with disabilities and LGBTQ+ clients. She is frequently tapped as an authority on the intersection of disability rights and digital accessibility by leading national publications, including The Washington Post. In 2022, Eve testified on accessible federal technology before the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging during its hearing entitled “Click Here: Accessible Federal Technology for People with Disabilities, Older Americans, and Veterans.”
Eve has been recognized by Law360 as one of just 12 “Titans of the Plaintiffs’ Bar” for 2023, as well as by Lawdragon as one of the 500 Leading Lawyers in America (2022 and 2023). Her wide-ranging experience complements Brown Goldstein & Levy’s decades of dedication to high-impact disability rights cases and its advocacy on behalf of individuals with disabilities and their families. Eve also leads Inclusivity, BGL’s Strategic Consulting Group, which works with organizations to promote the education, engagement, and employment of people with disabilities.
