Monica Basche attended the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service Celebrate Pro Bono 2025 Awards Ceremony while Anisha Queen attended the BGL-sponsored Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association Annual Reception and Fundraiser.

Welcome to another installment of our “Beyond the Courtroom” series: a recap of recent events our attorneys have attended. From conferences and lectures to summits and symposiums, and more, the BGL team is proud to stay connected to the legal and local communities.

Monica Basche attended the Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service Celebrate Pro Bono 2025 Awards Ceremony, hosted on October 30. This year’s event honored 45 years of MVLS’ dedication to pro bono services across the state. We are proud to stand beside MVLS as a firm committed to social justice and equity, aiming to close the gap between those who can afford legal services and those who cannot. Monica was previously honored by MVLS for her pro bono services on over 10 cases with the organization between 2022 and 2023.

Brown, Goldstein & Levy was a proud sponsor of the Metropolitan Washington Employment Lawyers Association (MWELA) Annual Reception and Fundraiser, hosted on October 30. Anisha Queen, a member of MWELA, attended the reception and spent time connecting with fellow advocates for workers’ rights. In addition to offering opportunities to share “war stories” and good counsel, the event serves as MWELA’s primary fundraiser of the year.
