Jacqui Cadman is co-founder and co-chair of new Criminal Law Forum at the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia – a space to support and create community for women in the D.C. criminal legal field.

Partner Jacqui Cadman is co-founder and co-chair of the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia’s (WBA/DC) Criminal Law Forum, a new initiative she launched with fellow co-chair and WBA/DC member Paulette Pagán to create opportunities for impactful dialogue and community for women in the D.C. criminal legal field. As former public defenders, both Jacqui and Paulette understand the importance of creating such a space.

“I have been a criminal defense practitioner for over 20 years, and, during that time, I have seen and experienced the unique challenges and isolation that women lawyers can experience in the criminal legal field,” Jacqui said. “The Criminal Law Forum is an excellent complement to the D.C. Bar’s existing forums and will help create community that inspires women attorneys while sharpening our criminal legal practices.”

The WBA/DC has been a pillar of the legal community for over a century and is filled with trailblazing women who are shaping the profession and fighting for justice every day. Jacqui and Paulette are honored to build upon that legacy by launching the organization’s very first forum focused specifically on criminal law.

Jacqui is widely regarded as one of the best criminal trial lawyers in the Washington D.C. and Baltimore metro areas. She is a seasoned trial attorney who works tirelessly to give a voice to individuals facing unjust government or state treatment, prosecution or investigation. Jacqui fights to make sure that her clients are protected and that their voices are heard in a system that is designed to silence them.

Jacqui is also an active member of several other criminal law organizations, including the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Women in White Collar Criminal Defense Association, and the American Bar Association Criminal Justice section.
