Brown, Goldstein & Levy proudly honors Disability Pride Month. We commemorate the July 26, 1990, passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We honor generations of individuals with disabilities and disability rights advocates who have fought for equality and visibility and celebrate the progress that has been made toward that end.
Unfortunately, people with disabilities continue to face barriers to information, technology, housing, education, employment, and transportation. BGL is a national leader in breaking down these barriers and fighting for the rights of people with disabilities. For decades, our attorneys have worked to ensure that programs and services offered by private companies and government alike are fully accessible to individuals with disabilities—as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act and other federal and state laws. We take immense pride in our high-profile, high-impact disability rights cases, which our experienced attorneys litigate in trial and appellate courts across the country.
For almost four decades, we have represented the nearly 50,000 members of the National Federation of the Blind. Over that decades-long campaign, we have won significant, groundbreaking victories in cases ranging from employment discrimination to website accessibility to prisoner rights. Our efforts have shaped how courts nationwide interpret the Americans with Disabilities Act and helped to empower our clients.
We provide several unique resources that demonstrate our commitment to disability rights justice within and beyond our communities. We offer Inclusivity, a strategic consulting firm to support businesses, organizations, and government agencies that want to achieve real inclusion of people with disabilities in their workforces and communities. We also offer a disability rights fellowship, a highly competitive, one-to-two-year fellowship available to law school graduates with a disability.
We hold ourselves to the highest standards of inclusion in all of our work – both inside and outside of the office. We celebrate diversity, inclusion, and accessibility and believe that including the provision of reasonable accommodations, fosters a collaborative, creative environment in which every person can use their strengths to their fullest and achieve the best results for our clients. We are proud that the National Law Journal and Elite Lawyers selected Brown, Goldstein & Levy as the nation’s “Civil Rights Law Firm of the Year” for 2018 and that Best Lawyers awarded our civil rights practice its highest ranking.
