Beyond the Courtroom: Attorneys Attend Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman’s Annual Reception, Maryland Association of Community Services and The Arc Maryland’s Town Hall, and FreeState Justice Jazz Brunch.

Welcome to another installment of our “Beyond the Courtroom” series: a recap of recent events our attorneys have attended. From conferences and lectures to summits and symposiums, and more, the BGL team is proud to stay connected to the legal and local communities.

Andy Freeman, Sharon Krevor-Weisbaum, and Jessie Weber attended Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman’s annual reception, hosted December 14 at Checkerspot Brewing Company. Comptroller Lierman is a former BGL attorney and worked with the firm from 2010 to 2022. BGL was a sponsor of the event and proudly supports Comptroller Lierman’s work in Maryland.

Sharon Krevor-Weisbaum and Anthony May joined the Maryland Association of Community Services (MACS) for Persons with Developmental Disabilities and The Arc Maryland at a Town Hall Meeting for People Supported in DDA Community Provider Services on December 16. The town hall included discussion of concerns regarding the current state of DDA supports and how to ensure quality services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Maryland.

Anthony May and Lauren DiMartino attended the FreeState Justice Jazz Brunch, an annual fundraising event that provides an inclusive space for LGBTQ+ individuals and their allies to celebrate together with food and live music. BGL is proud to stand beside FSJ in their critical advocacy work across the state.
