PG police accused of beating dad visiting for son's funeralExcessive force lawsuit filed against the county

Leaford Walker, a 68-year-old Florida resident, alleges he was severely beaten, immobilized by a stun gun, and pepper-sprayed without reason by three Prince George’s County police officers when he was in Maryland for his son’s funeral.  After he was wrongfully arrested and held at the county’s detention center, Mr. Walker was forced to miss his son’s service.  Joe Espo, who represents Mr. Walker, said, “Because of the conduct of the police, he [Leaford Walker] not only suffered the physical injuries he suffered; he also missed the funeral.”
